Platt Lane - Parking Update

Keyworth United Community Football Club along with the Keyworth Sports Association would like to acknowledge the ongoing issues surrounding the congested parking during match day’s in recent weeks.

The Chairman of the KUCFC John Cottee as well as his committee members are currently looking into the situation and discussing options with key contacts to bring about a solution as quickly as possible. The committee is also aware of planned road closures around the Keyworth area in the coming weeks and understand the further impact this will have. We hope to have further updates in the coming weeks.

With both our Juniors, First Team and Reserves teams playing Home fixtures this Saturday [08/10/22] we suspect there will be a busy car park at Platt Lane and we encourage all attendees to Platt Lane to be extra vigilant when Arriving or Leaving the premises.

Parent raises Money for Nottingham University Hospitals

Sara Lomas, parent of one of the Keyworth United CFC U13 girls, today raised an incredible £420.30 during a cake sale at Rushcliffe Arena. Bringing her total amount raised to an incredible £1,870 (as of 14:30 10/09/22).

Sara had initially planned to hold the cake sale today at Platt Lane during our weekly Wildcats programme on Saturday mornings. However, due to the sad death of our Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and the the postponement of football activities over the weekend, Rushcliffe Arena kindly offered to host the cake sale.

Sara had the following to say regarding what was a tremendous achievement;

“I just wanted to share with you how amazing a community there is at Keyworth United. Today I have been so blown away with people’s kindness. I have literally come home and cried. Everyone who shared my posts and came today to support the cake sale and donated online and just been so lovely with their kind words are just the most wonderful people. Today the cake sale raised £420.30! Which puts the total raised for the QMC A&E department at £2250! I can’t thank everyone enough; together we have all just changed lives..”

KitAid - Keyworth United CFC Donations

Kit Aid - Charity Football Strips

KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he wearing his favourite football shirt (Watford, Chesham Utd, Liverpool FC to name a few).

After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 800,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.

More details to follow so keep your eyes peeled.

Visit the KitAid Website by clicking here for more details and information on their amazing charity.

How we’re helping out at Keyworth United Community Football Club?

KitAid is a charity that finds a new home for your unwanted kit in areas of the developing world where football is loved, but participation is held back by a lack of access to kit and equipment.

We have two collection bags at Platt Lane and we’re pleading with Parents, Coaches and Players to bring down any unwanted football equipment from any club, not just Keyworth united. Whether that be Shirts, Socks, Boots, Kits, Bibs etc, bring them to the club and help a worthy cause.

We do ask that people could bag up their donations and write the size on the bag so that we can organise any donations more effectively.
